Paul is Head of Ministry Operations for Living Leadership, a UK–wide organisation that trains, supports and resources disciple–making leaders in the Church who serve with hearts captivated by in God’s grace in Christ Jesus. He is also Director of the Sophron Institute, a network of people in Northern Ireland seeking to promote a Christian worldview through speaking and writing about contemporary issues. He began his working life as a medic before serving as a cross–cultural pastor, a youth worker and a lecturer in practical theology. His doctoral studies explored the nature of church and mission in contemporary post–Christian contexts. He is involved in a range of Christian organisations including as a Council member for Evangelical Alliance UK.
Paul lives in Lisburn with his wife Gar–Ling, an elderly care physician, and their two children. His connection with Tiō stems from his involvement over many years in the Lisburn Causeway Group, where he learns with and from his many friends with intellectual disability as they discover who Jesus is and what it means to know (in the often–repeated words of one member) that “God loves us”.
